Reopening and some Rules
Dear Pilates of Charleston clients,
We hope everyone is staying safe and well in these difficult times. We sure have missed seeing you in the studio! As many of you know, we are opening our doors again this coming week, starting Monday May 18th, for private sessions ONLY. Based on state guidelines and social distancing recommendations by the CDC, we are trying to reduce the number of people in the studio at one time. So group class peeps…please be patient and hang on a bit longer! In order to ensure the health and safety of our clients and instructors, we would like to inform everyone of our new studio procedures that we will now be following for private sessions and of course group classes eventually. Please review our new studio procedures and guidelines below:
- Private sessions are now 45 minutes instead of the usual 50minutes. This extra time will allow instructors enough time thoroughly disinfect equipment in between clients.
- Do NOT arrive early for your session. We are trying to reduce the number of people in the studio at one time. So if you arrive early, please wait in your car until the exact time of your scheduled session.
- Use hand sanitizer after you enter the studio. Hand sanitizer will be provided by Pilates of Charleston and will be right by the door for you to use immediately after you enter.
- Leave all unnecessary items, bags, and purses in your car. Please limit personal items to your cell phone, car keys and water bottle. Leaving your personal belongings in your car will allow us to minimize surface contamination.
- Temperatures will be taken. Upon your arrival, your temperature will be taken by an infrared non-contact thermometer to ensure that you do not have a fever. State guidelines require us to send you home with a temperature of 100.4 or higher.
- Water fountain will no longer be available and towel service is suspended. Please bring your own towel and your own water bottle.
- Masks are encouraged, but not required.
- We kindly ask that you use your restroom before leaving home if possible.

- Stay home is you are feeling the least bit sick in any way. If you are experiencing any signs or symptoms of ANY illness or have been possibly been exposed to someone with COVI-19, we ask that you STAY HOME and reschedule your session to at least 14 days later to ensure that you are truly symptom free.
- Update your account information. We want to make the check out process hands free, so please make sure your credit card and billing information is up to date on MindBody.
Reformers and equipment are cleaned hourly in between clients with recommended, skin safe disinfectant, and the studio is being cleaned and serviced nightly. We have ordered new vinyl covered straps for our reformers, which will allow them to be more thoroughly cleaned and wiped down, as opposed to our soft touch cloth ones. We will leave our front doors open to eliminate touching of the handle and to increase ventilation. We will do this as long as the weather permits. Thank you for your patience as we navigate through these difficult times and please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns that you have over these new studio procedures.
In good health, the Team at Pilates of Charleston
