What a reformer class here actually looks like
Group reformer classes run forty-five minutes on Balanced Body Allegro 2 reformers, capped at eight people. You manage your own reformer — changing springs, moving the foot bar, grabbing straps — with an instructor guiding you and helping you adjust as the class moves.
Classes use a full range of apparatus and props: jump boards, resistance bands, magic circles, boxes, platforms, plank bars, and handheld weights. No two classes are built the same way.
It is an energetic room. No microphones, because your instructor is close enough to just talk to you, and a mirrored wall along one side so you can check your own alignment as you go.

Three ways onto the reformer
Group reformer classes
Forty-five minutes, eight people maximum, seven days a week. Four classes for $150 or eight for $260, valid thirty days. No membership/contract required.
Private sessions
Forty-five minutes built entirely around you — an injury you are managing, a goal, or learning the reformer properly first. Eight for $680, twelve for $990.
Semi-private
Per person, for two or three people who want the attention of a private with the company of a friend. Reserved by phone.

Reformer Pilates in Mount Pleasant, answered
Is there a Pilates studio in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina?
Yes. Pilates of Charleston has been in Mount Pleasant since 2011, at 778 S. Shelmore Blvd, Suite 104, between Highway 17 and Mathis Ferry Road. It is a boutique reformer studio — group classes capped at eight, plus private and semi-private sessions — and it was voted Charleston City Paper’s Best Pilates Studio in 2023 and 2024.
What is reformer Pilates?
The reformer is a sprung carriage that runs on rails, with straps, a foot bar and adjustable spring tension. The springs can assist a movement or resist it, which is why the same machine suits someone rebuilding after surgery and someone training for a marathon.
We use Balanced Body Allegro 2 reformers, with jump boards, resistance bands, magic circles, boxes and handheld weights depending on the class.
How much does reformer Pilates cost in Mount Pleasant?
A single group reformer class is $40. Four classes are $150 and eight are $260, both valid for thirty days. Private sessions are $90, with eight for $680 and twelve for $990 over six months. Semi-private sessions are $60 per person for two or three people.
New clients can start with two group classes for $50, including an equipment orientation on the first visit.
Do I need experience to take a reformer class here?
No, and plenty of people start with none. Classes do move quickly though, and you manage your own springs and straps, so if you have never been on a reformer we recommend a private session first — or the two-class intro, which includes a full equipment orientation before your first class.
How long is a class, and is there parking?
Group reformer classes run forty-five minutes and finish with a stretch series. Private sessions are forty-five minutes. Parking is free and directly outside the studio on S. Shelmore Blvd.
